Year 11 Devising Performances 2025

On Thursday 13th November, our GCSE Drama pupils completed their first official performance exam. As part of their Component 1 Devising module, pupils were tasked with creating their own original performance based on stimuli such as news articles, images and poetry. Over the past nine weeks, our Year 11 class have worked incredibly hard to produce creative and engaging performances; rehearsing in lessons and after school and working in groups to meet the required expectations. It has been a long road with some challenges on the way, but our pupils have shown true resilience.

Careers: Year 11 Interviews

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and carers who generously volunteered their time on Monday to conduct mock interviews with our Year 11 pupils. These sessions provided invaluable practice, helping pupils build confidence and develop essential communication skills for their future pathways.

Together, the support from families, local employers and the wider community made this experience both meaningful and memorable for our pupils.

Christmas Carol Auditions

It is that time of year already! Our wonderful new Year 7s auditioned for the Carol Service drama performance and, my goodness, this year group is bursting with talent! Mr Bell and I had such a tough time choosing who would be selected and, as you can see from the photos, every pupil who auditioned gave an outstanding performance. With Christmas fast approaching, and after much deliberation, we narrowed it down to the final twelve pupils. Rehearsals began this week with Mr Bell in the Director’s chair. Year 7s will perform their piece at the Christmas Carol Service in December. It will be wonderful to see it come together.

Cross Country Competitors at the London Youth Games

Last Saturday, several of our pupils were selected to represent Wandsworth at the London Youth Games cross country race. It was a short but challenging, hilly course and they all gave it their absolute best. As the usual Wandsworth cross country event was cancelled this year, we were delighted that some of our pupils still had the opportunity to compete.

Year 7 Rugby Success

On Monday, the Year 7 boys rugby team had their first win of the season beating City of London Freemen’s School 55-15. It was a very dominant display where our boys really showed they are making progress with their understanding of the game and execution of skills.

Tries were scored by: Aubrey S-A (x3), Teddy H (x2), Archie M (x2), Stephan M (x2), Josh H (x1) and Dylan T (x1).

Book Buzz

The books chosen by our Year 7 pupils back in September have now arrived and were handed out during English lessons this week. It felt like an early start to Christmas as each pupil unwrapped their very own book, gifts from the school! Over the coming weeks, there will be a range of activities linked to these titles but, for now, we hope everyone enjoys diving into their new reads.

Year 13 visit IPA Advertising Unlocked 2025

Business Studies students in Year 13 were invited to take part in AdUnlocked, where advertising agencies open their doors to showcase their work. We had a great day at BBH (Bartle Bogle Hegarty) learning about the different roles involved in creating an advertising campaign. Students were set a challenge and had to convince a panel what retro item should be brought back and why. Following the event, our students were featured in the IPA newsletter, chosen from 1,500 students!

Old Wandsworthians’ Remembrance Service

Last Friday, our school community gathered for a solemn Remembrance Day service to honour the brave soldiers who gave their lives in service to our country. We were privileged to welcome members of the Old Wandsworthians’ Memorial Trust, along with family members of fallen soldiers. Together we reflected on their sacrifice and expressed our deep gratitude for their courage and enduring legacy.
