Year 7 Science Club
/In Science Club this week, Year 7s were introduced to Bunsen burners and investigated whether the colour of the water affected the time it took to boil.
British Rowing Club Championships
/We reported at the end of last term that two pupils Bertie D and Toby G (Year 10) were going to be racing in the British Rowing Championships in Nottingham. They were representing Barn Elms Boat Club. We are delighted to report that they boys got through to the final where they came 6th! This is a huge achievement and we congratulate them for their commitment and determination.
Musical Success
/Sami U in Year 10 is to be congratulated as he successfully earned a place in the Chineke! Junior Orchestra on cello. This is an outstanding achievement as this is one of the top junior orchestras in London. He joins his brother Medhi who plays the bassoon in the same orchestra. Well done Sami!
Saint Cecilia’s Shortlisted for Green Award
/We are delighted to share that we have been shortlisted for the Church Times Green Award, in recognition of our efforts to reduce the environmental impact of the school.
We have introduced various energy-saving features, including automatic light sensors, sealed classrooms with mechanical ventilation, air-source heat pumps, high efficiency boilers and solar panels. Additionally, LED lighting, water-saving sensors in bathrooms and an underground rainwater tank have all contributed to reducing the school's carbon footprint.

Class of 2024
/We are delighted with our 2024 A Level and GCSE results which, once again, are well above the national averages. Our A*-C A Level grades are strong and we are especially proud of our students who completed their EPQs alongside their academic subjects. Our pupils’ performance at GCSE saw progress well above expected levels across all subjects, with particularly strong results in Maths and Science. Well done to all of our exam students, we are very proud of you all.
Musical Success
/Mehdi U in Year 9 has been selected for the Chineke! Junior Orchestra playing bassoon. To be chosen to be part of one of the top youth orchestras in London is a wonderful achievement. Well done Medhi!
Saint Cecilia’s Sports Awards
/On Tuesday 11th July, we welcomed Lauren Steadman, MBE as a guest speaker to our annual Sports Awards evening. She told tales of the challenges she faced when becoming a sportswoman and how she managed to overcome these with dedication, fortitude and a great sense of humour. Lauren was an inspiration to all present. Pupils, students and parents were treated to a trampolining display from our A Level PE students Beth D and Melody C which was incredible!
Well done to all the award winners! Onwards and upwards in 2024!
Saint Cecilia’s Ball Boys and Ball Girls
/Well done to all our Ball Boys and Ball Girls for their performance at the Wimbledon Championships. Congratulations to them all but especially Jacob R, Jade H and Robin E who were selected to perform their ball boy duties during both ladies’ and men's singles finals.
